Aldi does not deliver, but there may be help near you for anyone who finds getting to the shop hard.
Start with the volunteer help
Local charities run shopping help for older people in some areas. What is on offer, and whether there is a charge, differs from place to place, so ask.
It can take a little while to arrange, so it is worth asking sooner rather than when you have run out of milk.
Who to ask
Other ways
Royal Voluntary Service
Its volunteers help people get to the shops in some areas. Put your postcode into its site to see what runs near you.
Age UK
Your local Age UK may be able to help with grocery delivery or take you shopping, and it will know what else is going on in your area.
Your council
Your council may know of shopping and befriending schemes nearby. Ask for adult social care or the community team.
Somebody local you pay
If you would rather not wait for a volunteer place, you can post the job for someone local and ask the same person again next time.
Things worth asking for
The same person each time
Worth asking for. It makes everything easier when somebody already knows you take the blue milk.
Bags brought inside
Perfectly normal to ask. Say so when you arrange it rather than on the day.
A phone call rather than an app
Ask whether you can arrange it by phone, if a smartphone is not for you.
A regular slot
A standing Tuesday morning shop is far easier for everybody than asking fresh each week.
